As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 15 years of experience, I’m ready to dig in with anyone who is willing to put in the work. I’m committed to holding a safe, non-judgmental space, whether your dealing with depression, anxiety, trauma, need anger management, grief & loss, or are just feeling stuck in your life. I believe that there are different levels of transformation and healing because my hope is, we are all evolving and growing daily.
My approach is always strength based, trauma-informed and person-centered. I believe laughter, a foundation of trust and true connection are key to a strong therapeutic relationship. That said, I often pull from Narrative and Solution focused therapy practices, as well as Motivational Interviewing, CBT, Attachment Theory, Family Systems and Mindfulness practices.
Being an active listener is my superpower. But that doesn’t mean I won’t challenge those negative beliefs and long held narratives. I like to keep it real while helping you to explore deeper to help you process through your stuff. I’m truly interested in people’s stories, learning about their journey and helping folks grow into the best human they can be. Intentional language is important to me. So if something doesn’t resonate with you or something doesn’t land right, please let me know. Its important to me that you feel validated and understood.
I’ve worked in community mental health for most of my career as a therapist and in leadership positions. I’m an advocate for community and social justice issues focused on BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I’m most comfortable working with folks dealing with Depression, Anxiety, Trauma, Parenting Issues, Social Justice Issues, Life Transitions, Leadership issues, Work Stress, Imposter Syndrome, Relationship Issues and Family Dynamics.
I was first introduced to therapy in 1997. At the time, I needed help processing my divorce and becoming a single mother to a 2 yr old. My own therapeutic experience was so transformative, I decided to become a therapist in the middle of a couple’s session! As I started working with my clients, I realized that most of us don’t have a safe space with a trusted person to really dig in and process our thoughts and feelings. I believe that we all have the answers inside us. There’s just times when we all need some help quieting that negative talk in our heads and letting go of our old narratives. So let’s get started!

Starting therapy can be a daunting step for many, and it’s common to have fears. These fears/concerns might be about being vulnerable, not know what to expect, or fearing of judgement. Other concerns are about potential emotional intensity or reliving past traumas. As a therapist, it’s important to create a safe environment where clients feel heard, validated and understood. This can help alleviate their fears and encourage them to engage more openly in the therapeutic process.
Donna is a licensed clinical therapist who graduated from Cal State Los Angeles with her Masters in Social Work. Over the last seven years, she has worked in community mental health working with families and individuals and providing intensive care. She has facilitated group therapy, assessed clients with depression, anxiety, trauma experiences and psychotic disorders. Sometimes clients feel they are misunderstood or lack support and they find themselves struggling to find additional support. They begin to fear the idea of starting therapy, they aren’t sure if they will feel comfortable with opening up and they feel that they will continue to feel misunderstood.
I utilize a solution focused approach throughout the therapeutic process as a way of highlighting each client’s unique experiences, goals and strengths.
I strive to create a safe and comfortable space for clients to feel heard, to feel less alone and to be able to express themselves fully.
I am a Clinical Social Worker and a University of Southern California graduate with a Master’s degree in Social Work. Over the past six years I have worked in community mental health as a therapist working with and assessing clients with depression, anxiety, trauma experiences and psychotic disorders. I have worked with clients of all ages, have facilitated group therapy, individual and family therapy.

It is not uncommon for many of us to cling to belief systems that ultimately do not serve us. We bend over backwards to put out a facade of confidence, dependability, and accomplishment to the outside world in an attempt to live up to society’s and our own unattainable standards. We give and give to our jobs, our families, and our community to the point of utter exhaustion. Despite all the hard work we put forth, on the inside, we often feel deeply unfulfilled and empty. This can lead to exhaustion, loneliness, and emotional pain that just won’t go away.
Please be assured that you are not alone, and you have the power within to shift this unhealthy dynamic in your life! Therapy can shift your perspective and allow you to pinpoint what beliefs and behaviors work and don’t work for you so that you can better focus on the behaviors and actions that fill you up and rejuvenate you.
I can help you reach your more joyful and authentic self so that you can truly relish the life you have worked hard to build. I provide a safe space for you to unpack and overcome your fears, negative self-talk, and traumas. I will help you focus on positive actions to change your life for the better. Let’s work together to see new possibilities!
